We had such a great experience at Maazi. The food was absolutely delicious, and every dish we ordered was full of flavor. The service was excellent from start to finish, especially Palash, who was very attentive, kind, and made us feel welcome throughout our meal. He checked on us regularly and gave great recommendations. We really enjoyed our dinner and would definitely come back the next time we’re in Hanoi. Highly recommended!
This was the third Maazi we went to, after the ones in Ho Chi and Da Nang. It was not the food taste we expected after liking it in the other two places. The Bhaji in Pav Bhaji was sweet for no reason, the Dahi (curd) used in any dish including cucumber raita for Biryani, sweet lassi, or the salted lassi was stale and one can tell it with the sour taste of it. The Biryani was sweet too and no one makes it like that unless mentioned by the guests. At one point we felt like only the Coke there was tasting good. Irrespective of how busy the staff was, they need to understand that the taste has to be maintained.
Restaurant Maazi is a wonderful restaurant. We ate here two times, and the food was incredible both times. We had no error with the waiters and especially our waiter aman made sure we enjoyed our food and gave us a good time! If we go back to Hanoi we will definitely eat here again
I ordered the panipuri and lamb biryani, and both were absolutely amazing! The flavors were rich, authentic, and really satisfying—especially the biryani, which was perfectly spiced and tender. We also tried the masala chai, and it was so comforting and flavorful, the perfect drink to complement the meal. What made the experience even more special was the service. Since we’re not very familiar with Indian food, Sunny was incredibly helpful in recommending the best dishes for us. Every suggestion turned out to be spot on! He speaks English very well, is very kind, and made us feel so welcome throughout our visit. Overall, this is definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Hanoi, Vietnam. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious food and excellent service!
If you are looking for good Indian food and biryani in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, Maazi Old Quarter is one of the reliable options. The restaurant offers a comfortable setting with a modern Indian-style interior and is popular among Indian travelers as well as international visitors. The biryani is one of their highlights — aromatic basmati rice, well-balanced spices, and properly cooked meat or vegetables. The portion size is satisfying and the flavors are quite close to authentic North Indian style. Many guests also appreciate their butter chicken, dal makhani, garlic naan, and paneer dishes, which are consistently well prepared. Service is generally friendly and attentive, and the staff are used to serving tourists, so communication is easy. The restaurant is located conveniently inside the Old Quarter, making it a good stop after exploring the nearby streets and night market. Prices are slightly higher than local Vietnamese restaurants, but reasonable for an Indian restaurant in a tourist area. The overall experience is clean, comfortable, and reliable for anyone craving proper Indian flavors in Hanoi. Recommended for: Biryani lovers, Indian travelers, and anyone wanting authentic Indian cuisine in the Old Quarter.
