Tamaya Japanese Restaurant, located on the ground floor of Somerset Grand Hanoi, was a wonderful place for our team dinner. It was my first experience trying authentic Japanese cuisine, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, each prepared with great attention to quality and presentation. Along with the food, they also have an impressive selection of traditional Japanese beverages, which added a unique touch to the overall dining experience. The ambience is elegant yet comfortable, making it a great choice for team gatherings, business dinners, or a relaxed meal with family and friends. If you’re in Hanoi and want to experience authentic Japanese cuisine, Tamaya is definitely worth a visit.
Amazing food, brilliant service. Salmon sashimi for the win
Nice set lunch promotion. Having room for private dining. Friendly manager.
For a quiet, refined escape from the energetic pace of Hanoi’s streets, Tamaya Japanese is a hidden gem tucked away on the first floor of an office building. Discovered by chance during a grocery run, this spot proves that some of the best finds in the city are the ones you aren't looking for. Atmosphere: The standout feature of Tamaya is the environment. It provides a peaceful, upscale setting that feels worlds away from the local hustle. Service: Exceptionally attentive. The manager, in particular, goes above and beyond to ensure guests are well-taken care of. Private Dining: The restaurant offers private rooms which are ideal for groups or special occasions. Their booking process is smooth and responsive, making it an excellent choice for a birthday dinner or a family gathering. The Food The menu focuses on high-quality, fresh ingredients at a very fair price point. Sushi & Sashimi: The fish is notably fresh. If the staff mentions a daily special—like the tuna belly—it is well worth taking the recommendation. The assortment of nigiri and rolls is both extensive and well-executed. Hot Entrees: Gyudon: Savory, tender, and highly seasoned. Udon: The broth is flavorful and authentic, providing a great comfort-food balance to the sashimi. The Verdict Tamaya offers a rare combination of quality and tranquility. With fresh seafood, flavorful cooked dishes, and a quiet location, it is a reliable choice for both a relaxed Friday night or a hosted event. Pro Tip: Request a private room in advance to fully enjoy the quiet, upscale vibe of the location.
Great japanese restaurant near to the downtown. Huge food selection - sushi, sashimi, grill, etc. Freshest fish and seafood. Highly recommend!
