Spices Villa - Vietnamese Dining

Discovered this restaurant online and booking process was easy. Arrived in the middle of a thunderstorm so a very wet entrance. Food was terrific. The service from Pablo was terrific. I had the Burrata salad, which was amazing. Burrata infused with pesto accompanied by heirloom tomatoes. Fantastic. My wife had the Pomelo Salad with Tiger Prawns. It was very tasty and a very generous serve. For mains I had the Black Angus steak with an assortment of sides. Steak was cooked to perfection - medium rare - and all was delicious. My wife had the Slow Cooked Sea Bass which was terrific (sorry, no photo). A very pleasant evening. I highly recommend.
Had such a wonderful evening for my boyfriend’s birthday! Staff were so lovely, food was delicious (only took photos of the amuse bouche but see attached) and such good value for money. Could not recommend more!!!
We ended up going to this place three times in five days.. the Brioche Prawn Caviar Tapas is to die for. It’s the best thing and we ate that all the three times. All the other items on the menu were also delicious.. the service is excellent. Day one we were waited and served by Stormy and the other two times we were waited on by Sun(Pablo).. both of them very welcoming, warm, friendly, gave us few tips on were to eat locally. The ambience is very beautiful garden like with a lovely rustic feel, but with a very fresh perspective. Everything that we ordered on the menu was delicious and worth trying. We also saw a lot of vegan options on the menu and I have suggested it to my vegan friends visiting next week. I enjoyed the sea food, tapas! I will definitely drop by again when in Hanoi next!
Round 2... we loved this food so much we returned for more! Since it was rainy, we ate inside this time. Very comfy. Spices villa has great attention to detail from beveled glass windows to pour over tableside mushroom soup. Hana's charm was just one of the many lovely aspects of our lunch. The food was delicious and fresh without being sugary or over salted (I'm finding a lot of restaurants serve sugary oversalted food in Hanoi). Our group of 5 loved the serene courtyard with big trees and comfy seats.
Spices Villa is an upscale restaurant offering contemporary Vietnamese cuisine in a great setting. The menu is rather on the expensive side, but the dining experience is refined and unique. Some dishes stand out as exceptional, with perfectly balanced flavors and beautiful presentatiom. However, a few items can come across as a bit overdesigned, prioritizing looks over taste and authenticity. The staff is attentive and professional, and the space is elegant, perfect for a special occasion or sophisticated night out. Spices Villa is worth trying if you’re after inventive Vietnamese fare and don’t mind splurging a bit, though not every dish may suit every palate.
