Must try in vietnam. Had a forest snake and Mr. Dragon (the owner) made sure we had a fantastic fun filled time. U can contact him by whatapp and he will answer all your questions. Snake was killed in front of us and made into variety of dishes like spring roll, grated ribs with rice crackers, fried skin and sautéed snake. We also had a taste of snake wine. After the meal we checked and took pics and held a couple of snake from thier snake pit. We had the fried tortoise too which was delicious. It was a wonderful experience and we all loved it.
I had a great time having lunch at The Hung Snake Restaurant! I spoke to Dragon on the phone the day before to confirm availability and the booking went smoothly. I showed up and he was a very hospitable throughout the entire experience; it was great to hear about the snake farming process and his background. The food and service were great and unforgettable 🐍 Highly recommend going with a group of friends or family as it’s more of a shared experience than just a meal!
Absolutely loved this place!! I’m someone who likes to try different kinds of meat so i was excited to try the snake meat here and i must say that it was very delicious! I had the snake spring rolls and the snake fat rice along with some snake wine and they both went down very well. There are also other kinds of meat that you can try here too. The owner Dragon was an amazing host and i was surprised as how so easily he was handling the snakes. I would love to visit this place again when i come back to Hanoi.
What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this restaurant . I’ll put it this way, I’m a guy from Ireland that is well travelled and you name it I’ve eaten it so this didn’t phase me. My wife is the opposite. She’s a chicken with everything girl and she first ate sushi only recently yet she loved the snake spring rolls here. She enjoyed trying so many new dishes here because the food is beyond amazing. The owner goes by the name Dragon and is the most sincerely genuine man I met in Vietnam! I ordered the male cobra(most expensive but the best) and he kept asking if I was sure as there are cheaper snakes. I drank the heart and the blood but that’s totally up to the person. Also I used to own my own python so I’m a snake lover, but people need to broaden their palate and this will change your whole perspective! His wife cooks all the amazing food and he sat with us all evening which just made the experience even better.! I never write reviews but 1000% I’ll be back here. Thank you Dragon
I came here to try snake meat for the first time, and it was an unforgettable experience. Make sure you contact them on WhatsApp before going to reserve your table and your snake, because if you arrive without a reservation, you might not get a whole snake and all 7 dishes. I reserved one day before. Mr. Dragon, the owner, speaks fluent English and he is an amazing person, super friendly, helpful, and cool. He personally greeted me when I arrived and explained everything about the process, the dishes, and the different snakes available. They even showed me the snake before cooking. Once you choose your snake and pay, they prepare 7 different dishes from the whole snake, each made from different parts and each with a unique flavor and style. They also offer snake wine, and the snake heart and blood (optional). I didn’t try the heart and blood because I was scared, but it’s available. All beverages are included in the cost. After some time, all 7 dishes came out and everything tasted great. My favorite dish was the sautéed snake meat, followed by the grilled snake bones, super delicious! I went solo, so I couldn’t finish everything (7 dishes is a lot), but Mr. Dragon kept me company and even ate some with me, which made the experience even better. His wife is the cook and she prepared the dishes perfectly, everything was delicious. Overall, this was an amazing experience in a beautiful restaurant with an incredible host. If you are in Hanoi, I highly recommend trying it. You’ll leave with a great memory and a story to share.
