After visiting the close by literature temple we felt hungry and stopped in front of KOTO. We felt very welcomed and after studying the menu I decided to go with a Maracuja Kombutcha, Fried Chicken with white rice, and Tiramisu Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream. Everything was really delicious 😋. The staff was really friendly and we felt at home. They sell a Vietnamese Cook Book for ~50$. During the stay we read that Bill Clinton also visited this place.

We are so happy we stumbled onto this place! The food was fantastic, and our entire group of seven was satisfied by the options. We also loved the social mission. We recommend the pork two ways, the poke bowl and the duck leg, but everyone was happy with their meal. Very cool inside and good service.

A Top-Tier Culinary Experience with a Top Chef Vietnam Winner! The cooking workshop at KOTO Van Mieu is much more than just a culinary lesson- it is a soulful and deeply meaningful experience. We had the privilege of learning from Chef Hau Hoang, a Top Chef Vietnam winner, who guided us with incredible patience, professionalism, and a constant smile. Her expertise made the secrets of Vietnamese cuisine accessible and truly inspiring. The ingredients were exceptionally fresh and of the highest quality, resulting in authentic, perfectly balanced, and delicious food. The staff was remarkably kind and extremely attentive to allergies and dietary adjustments, ensuring we felt completely safe and well-cared for. Knowing that the restaurant operates as a social enterprise under the KOTO model (Know One, Teach One) adds an emotional layer to the experience. By training at-risk youth and former street children for careers in hospitality, KOTO provides them with a real future. I highly recommend this to any food lover looking for top-tier culinary standards paired with a significant contribution to the community.

I’m really glad I found this restaurant through online reviews. We ordered the Van Mieu set for two and shared it among three people, and the portion was just right for us. I was especially impressed by the beef, it was full of flavour yet still tender and juicy, which pleasantly surprised me. The pricing felt reasonable for the quality of food, and honestly, this turned out to be one of the best meals I had in Vietnam, far better than a Michelin-star restaurant I visited earlier in the trip. There were a few small hiccups in the service from the younger waitstaff, but it was understandable as they are still in the learning phase. Overall, the food quality more than made up for it, and I would definitely recommend this place.

This is a charity that helps street kids get a career in hospitality by training in kitchen, service, and managerial skills. We arrived at lunch without a booking and they accomodated us without problem on the ground floor, which i think was a blessing given the number of tours going upstairs. The food is next level. The menu is a modern twist on traditional. We opted for the more expensive of the two set menus, and it was fantastic. I had what might have been the tenderedt steak I've ever eaten. Update, because I forgot to add. Our service was first class. The young ladies who served our table were highly professional and courteous. I would expect this level of service in a restaurant of the highest order. Keep doing what you're doing (very well). Ethical eating at its very best.
