One of the most unique cocktail bars I discovered in Hanoi. Hidden behind an unassuming entrance, the venue opens into a beautifully designed tiki-inspired space with stunning architecture, warm lighting, and an intimate atmosphere. The attention to detail is impressive, from the tunnel entrance to the creative cocktail presentation. The drinks were well-balanced, flavorful, and clearly crafted by people who care about their craft. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to recommend cocktails based on personal preferences. A perfect spot for a relaxed evening, whether you’re visiting Hanoi or looking for a special place to enjoy great cocktails with friends. Highly recommended.
Holy hell everyone. Vietnam did it. I’ve been to Smugglers Cove, Inside Passage, Dead Man’s Isle, and many more tiki bars in between. The Old Well comfortably sits among those champions and staples of Tiki. With a unique, fruity, and local flair to the space, if you like Tiki, make sure this place is on your list to visit.
The Old Well is an absolute gem hidden amongst the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. Even walking up to the door elicits a sense of wonder and secrecy. When you step in you wonder to yourself how a place could exist, a beautiful two level bar with a full glass ceiling and back patio, you'll feel you've been transported to your own tropical paradise. The surroundings and drinks would suffice to make it one of the best bars in Hanoi but when you include how incredible the service is, it may rank in the top spots worldwide. Len and David took such amazing care of us this evening and it felt like within moments we were old friends. Come for happy hour, stay forever. Do not miss out on the Old Well. Oh and they've got the best whiskey sour in Hanoi.
Really cool tiki bar that feels more like a speakeasy than a tiki bar! The hostess was so kind in answering all our questions both about the establishment AND the drinks. We sat up stairs which had a cool view overlooking the bar. Solid variation of drinks and the martinis were A++! The deck is also beautiful. There’s outdoor and indoor seating and outdoor is where the old well still remains! Super cool.
