Description
Begin your day with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Hanoi. Meet your guide and set off on a journey to Bac Ninh, a region rich in cultural heritage.
Your first stop is the Dinh Bang Communal House, one of the most beautiful and well-preserved ancient communal houses in Vietnam. Admire the traditional wooden architecture, complete with exquisite carvings of dragons and phoenixes. Learn about the role of communal houses in Vietnamese village life and compare them with community buildings in Western cultures.
Next, visit the Ly Bat De Temple, dedicated to the eight kings of the Ly Dynasty. Enjoy the sacred and peaceful atmosphere near the Tieu Tuong River. Hear stories of King Ly Thai To and the relocation of the capital to Thang Long (Hanoi), and learn about the influence of Buddhism and Confucianism in ancient Vietnam.
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy a meal of spring rolls, free-range chicken or river fish, seasonal vegetables, traditional Vietnamese soup, and fresh fruit. Vegetarian and special diet options are available upon request.
After lunch, visit the Dong Ho Folk Painting Village, the highlight of the tour. Visit a local artisan’s house and learn about Do paper and natural colors. Discover the symbolic meanings of Dong Ho paintings, such as pigs, chickens, and “The Mouse’s Wedding.” Enjoy a hands-on experience as you print your own Dong Ho painting and keep it as a souvenir.
Finally, return to Hanoi, where your guide will provide a tour summary and answer any questions you may have. Receive suggestions for further travel in Vietnam before being dropped off at your hotel.
