Day 1: Hanoi → Ba Vì National Park → Đường Lâm Ancient Village → Overnight on Ba Vì Peak Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Hanoi. Drive 1.5 hours to Ba Vì National Park. Explore the Cactus Garden, home to hundreds of cactus species in a huge glass dome, perfect for photography. Wander through the Ancient Pine Forest and discover the moss-covered French Church Ruins and the Old French Prison, surrounded by jungle. Enjoy optional short hikes to viewpoint platforms or take a forest loop trail. Savor a lunch at a local mountain restaurant Next, visit Đường Lâm Ancient Village, Vietnam’s best-preserved traditional village. Walk through laterite houses and narrow alleys, visit Mông Phụ Gate & Communal House, and meet a local family making peanut candy, rice wine, and soy sauce. Optionally, visit Mía Pagoda. Travel back to Ba Vì Peak and check in to your choice of accommodation: Peak Lodge, Mountain Bungalow, or a camping experience. In the evening, enjoy a sunset viewpoint walk, dinner at the lodge, and stargazing (weather permitting). Day 2: Sunrise Cloud Hunt → Thờ Mountain (Tản Viên) → Tea Hills → Transfer to Tam Đảo Begin your day with a sunrise cloud hunt on Ba Vì Peak. Walk or drive to the viewpoint tower for breathtaking views of clouds rolling over the valley. After breakfast at the lodge, hike to Thờ Mountain (Tản Viên Peak), a 20–30 minute walk with stone steps. At the top, enjoy panoramic views of the Ba Vì mountain range, visit a sacred shrine dedicated to Sơn Tinh (Mountain God), and experience the cool wind and misty forest atmosphere. Next, visit local tea hills, walking through rolling green tea plantations. Watch tea-picking, taste fresh green tea, and take photos on the hill ridge. After lunch at a local restaurant, transfer to Tam Đảo, a scenic 1.5-hour drive into the clouds of Tam Đảo Town. Day 3: Tam Đảo National Park Trekking → Stone Church → Cattle Area → Cloud-Hunting Viewpoints → Hanoi After breakfast at your hotel, go trekking in Tam Đảo National Park. Choose an easy or moderate route through bamboo forest trails, spotting butterflies, jungle plants, and streams. Enjoy high observation deck viewpoints and the cool highland air (18–22°C). The trek lasts 1.5–3 hours, depending on your preference. Visit Tam Đảo Stone Church, a historic French colonial church from 1906. Learn about French-era architecture, climb the stone stairs for town views, and walk around the town square. Have lunch in Tam Đảo, trying specialties like grilled chayote (local vegetable), mountain pork, and hotpot. In the afternoon, visit the Cattle Grazing Area (Đồi Trâu or Rangeland), a beautiful open hill area where local cattle feed. Enjoy photography, walking through grasslands, and misty mountain views. Finally, go cloud-hunting at Cầu Mây (Cloud Bridge) and Sky Gate Viewpoint, perfect spots for sunset photos and drone shots (if permitted). Return to Hanoi, arriving in the evening.
