I stayed at the Tonkin Luxury Boutique Hotel & Spa from July 20th to July 25th, and it was one of the highlights of my trip to Hanoi. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome and exceptional hospitality from the staff. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, and my room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless throughout my stay. After busy days exploring Hanoi, it was always a pleasure to return to such a relaxing environment. The spa and pool facilities were excellent and provided the perfect way to unwind. What really made the experience special was the staff. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. Whether it was providing local recommendations, arranging transportation, or simply greeting guests with a smile, they consistently went above and beyond. The location is also fantastic—convenient for exploring the city’s attractions while still offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. I had a wonderful five-night stay and would happily recommend Tonkin Luxury Boutique Hotel & Spa to anyone visiting Hanoi. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so enjoyable. I look forward to returning in the future.
Beautiful interior, the room was amazing. We got one with balcony, overlooking an eye catching private residence across. Lots of space, lots of privacy, lots of peace. The most ergonomic bathtub ever. Well designed bathroom. Staff were attentive and helpful. We were offered some umbrellas at the reception just before stepping out for the evening. Rain started within minutes after we left. Swimming pool was fantastic. Spent hours of peaceful enjoyable time in the afternoon. Tonkin is tucked away in a quiet street, well within walking distance of the lakes and old quarter. Just outside the hotel you can find very good pho, local seafood restaurant and Banh Mi shop run by a friendly old lady. Wonderful boutique hotel experience, highly recommended, especially to those that appreciates beauty and peace. Special shoutout to the team. Sophie was professional, composed and friendly. The rest of the team was fantastic too, didn’t manage to get everyone’s names.
My husband and I recently stayed at Tonkin for 3 nights at the beginning of a two‑week trip in Vietnam. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home with a very warm welcome from Lauren and the team at reception. The service from all staff is outstanding, so professional yet warm and friendly. We stayed in a Premier Executive Room with a balcony and bathtub, and would definitely recommend this room. The room is spacious and felt like our home away from home. The spa is also excellent; the best massage we had in Vietnam. The breakfast buffet is very high quality, and we enjoyed exploring the area where Tonkin is located, around the lakes, away from the tourist‑heavy Old Quarter. We enjoyed our stay so much that we changed our hotel for the end of our trip so we could return to Tonkin. After our first stay, we gave some feedback to the manager, who was extremely professional and receptive, especially as Tonkin is a new hotel. We would also like to particularly mention Stella, who was exceptional and a true asset to Tonkin. She took the time to get to know us, offer recommendations, ask about our trip, and even reached out before our return to check if we had any requests. Throughout our stay she continuously checked in to see how she could make our experience more comfortable. We are already planning our next trip!
The hotel is very new, beautifully decorated, and has all the facilities and amenities needed for a very comfortable stay. The location was perfect for us — within walking distance to most attractions, including the Old Quarter, while still being on a very quiet and peaceful street away from the noise and crowds. One of the highlights of our stay was definitely the staff. Everyone was incredibly sweet, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. As a gay couple travelling together, we also felt very safe, comfortable, and genuinely welcomed throughout our stay, which meant a lot to us. The hotel and staff were all very LGBT-friendly and respectful, and that really made the experience even better. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with a wide variety of delicious food options each morning. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The service was excellent and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The breakfast and restaurant offered a great mix of Asian and Western food. The rooftop was also a highlight, with lovely views over Hanoi and a nice selection of drinks. The location is perfect — close to the city, but away from the busy and noisy areas. Highly recommended!
