Absolutely wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel du Lac. Ben was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. He was so knowledgeable of the local area and gave us lots of recommendations. Can't wait to revisit Hanoi and this hotel again. We took advantage of the airport transfer which was really well priced and as we are landed was ready and waiting for us exactly per the instructions we were given. I also had a massage and paraffin foot treatment in the spa which was exquisite. I was welcomed with a delicious tea and some lovely treats, then the perfect treatment to aid after a long day travelling and finished with the lovely tea again. Thank you all at Grand Hotel du Lac. You have created a very special space in a wonderful city and we can't wait to return.
Can’t say enough about the amazing experience we had here, largely due to the hospitable staff that was available to help us the entire visit. Location of hotel was perfect, close to French quarter and walkable distance to coffee shops and delicious restaurants. Also the lake is a 10 minute walk and is a great way to start the day! Breakfast buffet was delicious, try the fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee served any way, French toast, eggs cooked perfectly…all was delightful. Rooms were comfortable as well. Overall service was fantastic… Emily, Anthony, Quan, Chloe to name a few, everyone who is working there was great. Also we had amazing massages at the hotel, book them there!! Great price!! We will be back!!
Our stay at Grand Hotel du Lac was absolutely wonderful and one of the highlights of our time in Hanoi. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for by the incredible staff. A special thank you to Hong Quan, who greeted us upon arrival with such warmth and kindness. He took the time to share so much helpful information about Hanoi and the surrounding area, which made us feel confident exploring the city. His attentiveness, knowledge, and welcoming personality made such a great first impression. Lily was another standout member of the team. We looked forward to seeing her every day! She was so enthusiastic, friendly, and full of personality that every interaction brought a smile to our faces. She truly made us feel at home. The hotel itself is stunning. Every detail feels thoughtfully cared for—even seeing staff carefully painting the gold trim in the elevators showed the pride they take in maintaining such an elegant and beautiful property. The complimentary bottled water was also a thoughtful touch that we appreciated throughout our stay. The amenities were fantastic, and the rooftop pool and bar provided a beautiful place to relax after exploring Hanoi. The breakfast was, without question, the best we had during our entire trip to Vietnam. The buffet offered an incredible selection, while the staff also served fresh coffee, tea, and made-to-order menu items, making every morning feel special. Our biggest thank you goes to Emily, who made breakfast something we genuinely looked forward to each day. She was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and attentive. We even had the joy of celebrating her birthday with her during our stay, which made the experience even more memorable. When my husband caught a cold, Emily noticed and kindly prepared a hot tea for him to take with us after breakfast—a small gesture that meant so much to us. It’s those moments of genuine care that we’ll always remember. Thank you to everyone at Grand Hotel du Lac for making our stay so memorable. Your kindness, hospitality, and attention to detail created an experience we will never forget. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. The hotel is beautifully presented, with elegant rooms, stunning surroundings, and a fantastic location that made exploring the area easy and enjoyable. The level of service was exceptional throughout our stay, and every detail felt thoughtfully considered. As someone with coeliac disease, I was particularly impressed by the gluten-free food options available. The staff were knowledgeable and accommodating, which made dining stress-free and enjoyable. We enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to book a stay at their sister property, Hotel du Lac Signature, after our tour. That hotel was stunning as well, which really speaks to the quality and consistency of the Hotel du Lac group. Whether you're visiting for a special occasion or simply looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway, we highly recommend the Grand Hotel du Lac. We would happily stay here again in the future.
