Day 1: Hà Nội Old Quarter → Ba Vì National Park → Tam Đảo Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Hà Nội Old Quarter. Depart for Ba Vì National Park, a 1.5-hour drive away. Start your day in the fresh mountain air with a series of scenic and cultural stops. Walk inside the beautiful dome filled with hundreds of cactus species at the Cactus Greenhouse (Xương Rồng Garden), perfect for photography. Next, visit the Ancient French Church Ruins, a mysterious stone church hidden in the forest, covered in moss and vines. Then, trek to the Summit Temples, traveling up the winding slope to the top. Visit Đền Thượng (Upper Temple) dedicated to Sơn Tinh and enjoy panoramic views over valleys and rice fields. The climb is moderate and suitable for most visitors. Enjoy a local lunch with specialties such as grilled chicken, fresh garden vegetables, mountain pork, and cơm lam (bamboo rice). After lunch, transfer to Tam Đảo, a scenic 1.5–2 hour drive through mountain roads and forested hills, arriving in Tam Đảo town by late afternoon. Check in at your hotel in Tam Đảo, relax, and enjoy the cool mountain weather. If the sky is clear, head to Cầu Mây Viewpoint, Rock Café Viewpoint, or Sky Gate for a spectacular sunset over rolling mountains, often above layers of clouds. In the evening, enjoy dinner in town with Tam Đảo specialties like su su vegetables, grilled skewers, and hotpot. Spend the night in Tam Đảo.
