I stayed here my first wek in Vietnam. My stay was better than I expected and I really liked the woody and earthy vibe of my room. The owner is really nice and one of the receptionists gave me a few recommendations nearby which quickly became my favorite coffee shop in the Tay Ho area. Easy walk around the lake, plenty of cafes and shops nearby, and spacious rooms with A/C available. I thought I booked a room with a washing machine but I didnt so ended up going to a 24/hr laundry spot using grab. They do also offer tours and arranged airport drop-off/pick-up. Would definitely stay here again
Great Hotel. The Rooms were clear. As the showed in the pictures. They got a fresh water every day. For any Questions Alice and Liam were at a good service
This was not our first stay at the Moonlight Hotel in Hanoi, but unfortunately, this stay was a massive disappointment. The hotel is currently in urgent need of renovation. We found mold in the bathroom, some of the furniture was defective, and the inside of the rice cooker was heavily scratched. The floor is damaged. There were several air conditioning devices on the outside wall, but they (or one of them) were so loud and vibrating, that it was impossibel to get a good sleep. On top of the poor conditions, our room wasn't ready on time as agreed. When we finally got inside, we found trash lying behind the bathroom door. Even though there were four of us, the room was only supplied with two towels and two drinking glasses. Furthermore, there was no toilet paper in the room when we checked in. The absolute worst part was the customer service. When we asked for the missing items, they only brought up two rolls of toilet paper for the four of us and told us to just use plastic cups instead of giving us more glasses. The unfriendly receptionist then actually told us that we needed to "save" on toilet paper! Overall, it was consistently rude and unhelpful. We were incredibly relieved to leave after a few days. We found another accommodation and immediately canceled our follow-up booking at the Moonlight. All in all, for us a complete letdown. This is absolutely no way to treat guests, especially returning ones who have repeatedly chosen this hotel. We will definitely not be coming back.
Staying at Moonlight Tay Ho was a truly pleasant and memorable experience in Hanoi. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and peaceful—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. One of the highlights is its location near West Lake, with some rooms offering beautiful lake views. The rooftop area is also a great spot to unwind and enjoy the city scenery. The studio room is very well-equipped, featuring a TV, table, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, kettle, and even a rice cooker—making it feel like a home away from home. The service is excellent, especially from the receptionists Alice, Liam, and Tony. They are very friendly, helpful, and informative, always ready to recommend great places to eat and interesting spots to visit around Hanoi. Overall, Moonlight Tay Ho is a great choice for a comfortable stay with warm hospitality. Highly recommended!
The stay was much better than expected. The bed was very soft and comfortable, and the room was extremely spacious. It had everything we needed — a washing machine, rice cooker, microwave, refrigerator, and hair dryer. At first, I was worried it might be noisy since it’s near the road in a small alley, but I requested a quiet room, and the staff were amazing. They arranged one of the quietest rooms for us. Special thanks to Alice, Tony, and Liam for their excellent service — they really took great care of us. I was very impressed. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I come back to Hanoi. The room was clean, spacious, and fully equipped. What I loved the most was the comfortable bed and the outstanding service. If you walk out through the back exit of the hotel, you’ll find pharmacies, convenience shops, and restaurants nearby. There are some recommended eateries — if you head out the back and turn left, you’ll come across a great spot called Yên Béo - Cửa Hàng Nem Nướng Yên Phụ. For those who enjoy pho, PHỞ GÀ - HỦ TÍU GÀ is also very delicious and just as good as the famous places — no need to travel far. Simply walk out the back of the hotel, turn left, and the restaurant will be on the opposite side of the road. You’ll need to cross the street, but it’s only a short walk to get there.
