Few hotel staff genuinely go out of their way to assist their guests in the best way possible, and the reception staff at La Selva Premium Hotel is absolutely one of those rare teams. From the moment you step into this hotel in Hanoi's Old Quarter, the support of the staff is unmatched. Beyond the stellar service, the hotel itself is good and located at a prime spot in the Old Quarter. Famous eateries of the Old Quarter and daily marts are located nearby. The room, which we used, was incredibly clean, comfortable (Family suite, front facing with balcony). My best wishes to the reception staff and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi!
I had an excellent 11-night stay (split over two stays) at the La Selva Premium Hotel and highly recommend it. I stayed in both the executive suite with a large window (pictured below) and a smaller room with a 0.5 x 2m internal window facing the building riser/stairs. The executive suite was a free upgrade, which I greatly appreciated. The rooms were excellent and very clean, and the daily cleaning service was thorough. I found the rooms in excellent condition when I returned. On my second stay, I requested a double bed in the smaller room, but instead, two singles were put together, creating a hard surface in the center. While not a major issue, it could be problematic for a couple. The reception staff was quite helpful, but at times, assistance with booking excursions and transport was limited to one staff member, who wasn’t always available. As a result, I had to self-organize many things. However, this may have been affected by the Tet holiday timing during my stay, but it was also the case in my second stay which was about a week after Tet. Other staff have been helpful with bags and general information, all speak English very well. The hotel is located in a great spot near the lake, shopping, and the old quarter. As of February 2026, there was some construction near the hotel, causing drilling and hammering sounds from 9 am onwards. I would inquire about this if it might affect your stay.
We had a pleasant stay here, right in the heart of old quarter. It’s convenient with abundant of food choices and cafes within the vicinity. Best part was it was really near the lake and it’s nice to have an evening stroll here especially over the weekends, when the lake comes to life. One thing is that the sound insulation is very poor and you hear everything including ppl talking in the alley, elevator movements and the sound of motorists honking even in the middle of the night, not really good if you’re a light sleeper. Breakfast wise was decent enough, we didn’t spend all our mornings here as we wanted to eat more of the local delicacies. The rooms didn’t look as new as it did in photos, but the staff here was very friendly and ensured we are taken care of, even upgraded us to a bigger room. In overall we are in the heart of the neighbourhood after all we still got some decent rest.
After walking in and out of a nearby hotel, we booked this one last minute (the same night) and were so glad we did!! The service at this hotel goes above and beyond. We were always greeted with warm smiles, we got upgraded on arrival, and the rooms are clean, modern, comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our trip, and happily stored our bags while we did the Ha Giang Loop. We even returned for another night and received the same excellent service. The bellboy also kindly walked our bags up the street when our taxi couldn’t reach the hotel! Would stay again in a heartbeat – highly recommended! 🌟
