budget hotel in quiet area. staffs are friendly and rooms are clean.
We spent our first two days in Hanoi at Hotel Du Monde Art, and one of the main reasons we chose this hotel was its attractive pricing—along with a rare and delightful feature: an exceptionally beautiful, well-maintained, and nearly perfectly tuned grand piano in the lobby. In terms of value for money, the hotel performs well. While it may not be unbeatable, it certainly offers a solid experience with clear potential to become outstanding with a few refinements. Service-wise, there is room for improvement. A slightly more attentive approach—especially when welcoming arriving guests—would elevate the overall experience. Even small gestures, like walking to the door to greet or assist guests, can make a meaningful difference in hospitality. The room itself is practical and comfortable. However, minor maintenance details such as visible gaps between floor tiles could be improved. The bathroom stands out with its elegant marble-style wall tiles, creating a refined and pleasant atmosphere. That said, the shower head could benefit from replacement due to wear from prolonged use. One key concern was ventilation. Our room did not have a window, and unfortunately, smoke from a nearby guest entered our room, making it difficult to sleep. For windowless rooms, proper ventilation and stricter monitoring of smoking policies are absolutely essential. On a positive note, the hotel delivers excellent value through its amenities. Breakfast is impressive for the price, featuring freshly made hot dishes like pho prepared on demand, along with a good variety of other options. The property also includes a beautiful swimming pool and a functional gym. The location is slightly removed from the city center, situated across the bridge from Hanoi’s main areas. It takes approximately 15 minutes to reach the Old Quarter without traffic, and longer during peak hours. Overall, with a few thoughtful improvements, this hotel has the potential to become a top choice for travelers. And for music lovers like myself, the presence of that stunning grand piano truly adds a special charm and memorable touch to the stay.
The location is far from the interesting activities in Hanoi but the price is valuable. The staff are accomodating and friendly too.
