Stayed here in March this year - Excellent place to stay - right in the heart of Hanoi. Super clean - lovely rooms. Balcony rooms are nice to sit and watch the street happenings. The service at reception was good, and the buffet was simple. The staff were helpful. There is plenty of areas to eat nearby also. Would definitely stay there again.
Mixed review - the rooms were great, very comfortable and clean. The location was also very good and within walking distance to everything in the old quarter, with a 7eleven just down the road. The reception staff were very friendly, however, we did have issues with the cleaning and maintenance staff which really did spoil our stay. They were incredibly noisy early in the morning (8am or sometimes earlier), shouting in the corridor and even hammering in a room adjacent to us. Our second morning, we had the doorbell rang at 7.45am by the cleaning staff despite having a do not disturb sign on, then later that day, they came in without knocking while I was getting changed. Every single morning we would be woken up by them - I would understand if we were sleeping in until 11am as they have a job to do, but this was at a time when you’d probably expect to still be asleep on holiday! One afternoon there was an incredibly strong smell of paint thinner that was so strong that we had to leave the hotel as we were both dizzy - the reception staff kindly changed our room to a higher floor which was slightly further away from some work that they were doing, but the smell was still very strong and we couldn’t go back in the hotel for several hours which was really inconvenient as it was during the hottest part of the day. We also had some really inconsiderate neighbours that would be making noise until the early hours of the morning and had to ask reception to call them a couple of times, but did get told to knock on their door ourselves which we weren’t entirely comfortable doing as they’d had a lot to drink. A comfortable stay in a good location, but if you’re looking for some sleep, probably not the best place. If possible, I would recommend requesting a room away from the lift.
We had a wonderful stay at La Selva Hotel in Hanoi. The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything you need. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome. One thing we really appreciated is that there is always the possibility to leave your luggage at the hotel when needed, which made traveling around much easier. During our stay we needed a translator in Hanoi, and the hotel arranged this for us free of charge. We thought this was amazing service and it really shows how far they go to help their guests. Overall, it’s a fantastic hotel with outstanding staff. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend La Selva Hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi! ⭐

I would highly recommend Hanoi La Selva Hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi, whether for leisure or business, and would gladly stay here again.
Stayed at Hanoi La Selva in July/August 2025. It’s very central in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, the colourful beautiful lake Hoan Kiem is just a short walk away as are the shopping market place - all a good experience. The hotel itself was comfortable and clean, bed was relaxing - air con was so good and refreshing cooling the room down beautifully. The bathroom was adequate to meet our needs. The breakfast restaurant offered good meals, staff were very friendly, as were the reception staff who were also welcoming offering good help to us as their visitors. As for getting our laundry done, drop that down to reception first thing in the morning and was back in the evening. Very impressed with our stay at Hanoi La Selva. Thank you Hotel La Selva
