Description
Begin your journey at 3:00 PM, when your friendly guide greets you at your hotel or a designated meeting point in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. During the short transfer to Cat Linh Station, receive a warm introduction to the history, daily culture, and culinary heritage of Hanoi.
At 3:15 PM, hop aboard the Cat Linh – Ha Dong Sky Train, Vietnam’s first metro line. Glide above the cityscape and enjoy panoramic views of Hanoi’s lively streets, colorful markets, and tree-lined avenues. It’s a fascinating blend of modern progress and local rhythm—a glimpse into the capital’s everyday life.
By 3:45 PM, arrive at Ha Dong Station, where a local driver will take you to Duong Noi Village. Nestled just beyond the city center, this peaceful village offers an authentic contrast to urban Hanoi. Upon arrival, be welcomed into a local host family’s traditional home, where you’ll experience genuine Vietnamese hospitality.
At 4:00 PM, enjoy a warm cultural exchange over tea and fresh fruits. Learn about local customs, home architecture, and the essential role of food in family gatherings. Meet students from Camkey English Center, who will join to practice conversational English and share stories about their life in Vietnam.
The highlight begins at 4:30 PM with a hands-on cooking class led by your host. Learn to prepare Nem, Vietnamese fried spring rolls- one of the country’s most beloved dishes. Follow step-by-step guidance to mix ingredients, roll the delicate rice paper, and prepare the signature dipping sauce. Each guest will make their own spring rolls to enjoy later, blending laughter, learning, and local flavor in a friendly kitchen setting.
By 6:00 PM, gather around the family dining table for a home-cooked dinner. Your meal includes crispy fried spring rolls, stir-fried vegetables, flavorful soup, steamed rice, and seasonal fruits for dessert. This cozy, family-style dinner provides not only a taste of traditional Northern cuisine but also a heartfelt opportunity to bond with your hosts and fellow travelers.
At 7:30 PM, say goodbye to your host family and return to Hanoi’s Old Quarter with warm memories and new friendships.
